EnviroSEA Stock IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS 1) Are you wondering what kind of images to submit to us? Well – we specialize in just one thing - South East Asia. We don't have any other criteria other than your images must represent south east asia or be the work of a south east asian based photographer. 2) If you have an image featuring a recognizable person, we expect you to have a model release. If you don’t have one and cannot obtain one, we’ll evaluate if the image is marketable for editorial usage. If so, we can accept the image into our library, but please be aware that it will be specifically offered for “editorial usage only” which can restrict its overall sales potential as it won’t be sellable for advertising use. Of course if you specialize in editorial this will not be an issue. The same basic principle goes for images of private property. We are happy to provide model and property release templates for your use – just ask! 3) All images at the Envirosea website are sold under a non-exclusive Broad Use license. Please don't submit images that are currently under any exclusive license with a commercial client or publication. EnviroSEA Stock QUALITY CONSIDERATIONS 4) Aside from strong composition, image quality is paramount to an enduring and highly sellable stock image. Please be aware that EnviroSEA only accepts digital file submissions – either from digital cameras (only 6 megapixels or better) or from very sharp, very clean slide scans. Image scans with noticeable dust or lines are automatically rejected. 5) EnviroSEA requires all high-resolutions submissions to adhere strictly to the following guidelines. Please double and triple-check your dpi and image size before you send us any files. 6) All images must be in perfect focus (check your focus at 100% of image size or "actual pixels" in CS3) and tack sharp in the focus area. 7) Do not apply USM or any form of sharpening to the file/image 8) All images must be clean and spotted and free from noticable artifacts (check for artifacts at 100% of image size or "actual pixels" in CS3) 9) Images should be in TIFF or JPEG format level 11 - no PSD or PNG. 10) Images need to be a minimum of 4000 pixels on the longest side. If you have cropped the image to fit your artistic vision, please make sure the long side of the file is still at least 3500 pixels. You can interpolate to achieve 3500 pixels. 11) If you wish us to offer the files for sale as prints you must take into account that your crops must still fit an accepted ratio (i.e. the same ratio as 35 mm file (3:2)) or print ratio. 12) Make sure your dpi (resolution) is set to 300 – not 240 (if using ACR you will need to set this). And if you scan your slides, make sure you resize from 4000dpi to 300dpi! 13) End files should be around 40-50 megabytes (as TIFF or PSD before you save as jpeg 11) – if they’re significantly larger, check your bit-size and make sure it’s set to 8, not 16. 14) EnviroSEA Stock requires that photographers add at least four pieces of IPTC content to their submitted high-resolution images: a. Title b. Caption/description c. Copyright name (yes, even when your image is offered in our collection we still show YOUR copyright) d. Model/property releases ( only if available) This helps with filing, tracking and keywording, ultimately making the image show up in more and concise searches. The better and more detailed your IPTC descriptions are, the more sellable your image will be! 15) We reserve the right to reject any image if it doesn't stand up to our quality standards. NOTE: If we ask you to submit and you have problems with our requirements we will do our utmost to help you achieving the required specification. |
